On Sunday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m., Evins Mill continues its "Music at the Mill" concert series with another intimate evening of acoustic music featuring accomplished singer-songwriter Tim Buppert.

Having written songs and/or sung them on albums for Trisha Yearwood, Michael Peterson and Kevin Sharp among other well-known artists, Tim has several top ten songs to his name and will be performing them and others in an informal, writer-in-the-round format.

The Music at the Mill package includes hors d'oeuvres, a four-course dinner & concert and is $60/guest, while the hors d'oeuvres-concert-only package is $20/guest. Sodas, bottled waters & alcoholic beverages are available but not included.

We're big fans of Harmony Lane Creamery. Less than five miles from Evins Mill, it produces some of the best cheese around and is a major source of the cheese we serve. As such, we're excited to host our first Harmony Lane Cheese Tasting - on Saturday, June 24. 

The event begins with a late afternoon tour of the Harmony Lane Farm and is followed by a social hour at Evins Mill, when Julie & Mark David of Harmony Lane, will mix with guests and share their story. 

Chef Evans will incorporate Harmony Lane Goat Cheese not only into the hors d'oeuvre selections that night but into the dinner service as well. Detailed menu will follow soon.

On Saturday, July 1, 2017, the town of Smithville hosts the Fiddlers' Jamboree & Craft Festival, one of country's premier bluegrass music competitions. Just a few minutes from the Dekalb County Courthouse, where the hoedown takes place, Evins Mill is a convenient springboard for the festival - as well as a cool escape from the heat, and a relaxing destination for great meals and overnight accommodations.

To that end, the resort is hosting its own annual Bluegrass Cookout from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. that same Saturday. Appetizers are available as early as 6:00 p.m. As always, guests are invited to arrive early and enjoy a stroll to Carmac Falls or a game of pool at Cortland Hall. Beginning at 6:00, the brothers Sergio of Calfkiller Brewing Company will, in a setting as irreverent as it is beautiful, sample their products and share their story.

Well-known for "unparalleled drinkability, paradoxically balanced by uncompromised complexity," Calfkiller beer has attracted a devoted following among micro-brew enthusiasts and beer lovers throughout Tennessee.

In conjunction with Stonehaus Winery, based in Crossville, Tennessee, Evins Mill is hosting a wine tasting on Saturday, September 9. Beginning at 6:00, Rob Ramsey of Stonehaus, will discuss the history of wine making in Tennessee and sample many Stonehaus wines.

The tasting will be paired with an assortment of appetizers and be followed by an Overlook Cookout, served buffet style at 7:00 and prepared by our own Chef Evans, who is crafting a menu to compliment the tasting...

Pumpkin Carving ~ Sat, Oct 28, 2017

On Saturday, October 28, Evins Mill hosts its annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. With adult participation in mind, each couple is given at check-in one already cleaned out pumpkin - the canvas for their creative designs! Pumpkins will come in similar shapes and sizes but are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

From 3:00 to the 6:00 social hour, guests will have ample time to carve their pumpkins, which will then be prominently displayed at the Main Lodge before dinner. The guest with the most creatively carved pumpkin as judged by our staff wins a complimentary night stay at the resort on any Enchanted Night.
