Great Falls & Twin Falls
82 Beach Road(931) 686-2471Located in Rock Island State Park, Great Falls of the Caney Fork River rests on an imposing limestone gorge that provides scenic overlooks, waterfalls and deep pools for fishing, rock-hopping and exploring. Located at the confluence of the Collins and Caney Fork Rivers, this 883-acre park has a natural sand beach on Center Hill Resevoir. Also located in Rock Island State Park is Twin Falls, which is not a natural waterfall but a byproduct of the damming of the Caney Fork River. The water pours out of the gorge walls about 80 feet above the Caney Fork River and about 40 feet below the top of the gorge. There are two main streams pouring out of the gorge wall, hence the name "Twin Falls."
