Bluff View Guest Houses
Lockhart is the first guest house and just a stone’s throw away from the Main Lodge. As guests park by the Lodge, Lockhart rooms are the most convenient. They also offer direct views of the historic gristmill and dam, over which there is a continual cascade of water. The further from the Lodge, the less visible these views become. Lawrence is roughly 150 feet from the Lodge, while Webb is roughly a football field. Both offer great views of the creek but are less convenient to the Lodge and are further from the views of the dam cascades and gristmill.
The Mountain Laurel & Evergreen Rooms in each of the three guest houses have many features in common…
- size, amenities & décor
- lots of windows with breathtaking views
- sight and sound of rushing water
- private and covered creek side decks with rockers
They differ aesthetically and functionally however in six respects as outlined below.
Mountain Laurel Rooms
Mountain Laurel Rooms uniquely feature...
- vaulted cathedral ceilings giving them a more open and spacious feel
- wooden ceilings offering a warmer and more rustic texture
- easy access (no flight of steps even through they’re on the top floor)
- sleeping lofts – perfect for children or groups needing additional bedding
- more shelving & storage space
- a mini-refrigerator
For pricing, see the appropriate tab on the left hand navigation bar titled “Packages & Pricing.”
Evergreen Rooms
Our first floor Evergreen Rooms feature all of the amenities and views that the Mountain Laurel Rooms do but unlike their Mountain Laurel counterparts, they feature…
- a regular height dry wall ceiling
- an additional flight of steps to access.
For pricing, see the appropriate tab on the left hand navigation bar titled “Packages & Pricing.”
Main Lodge
The Poplar Room
In December 2007, the Poplar room is scheduled to be converted to alternative uses, but until that time, this one room in the Main Lodge features...
- the Lodge’s historic character – its poplar floors & hand hewn log walls
- easy access to the dining room and other common gathering areas in the Lodge,
involving few or no steps to access them
For pricing, see the appropriate tab on the left hand navigation bar titled “Packages & Pricing.”
